"We found Oak Island to be exactly what we were looking for…"

An avid beach lover, Kathy Simmons began her Brunswick County real estate career after she and husband Brad along with their three children made the decision to become fulltime Oak Island residents.  Formerly from Tolland, CT, the family had long enjoyed a second home at the beach and realized being there made them happiest.

“We found Oak Island to be exactly what we were looking for…a more relaxed lifestyle with all of the amenities living on the coast provides.  We love walking on the beach everyday as well as taking our boat out every chance we get. I often invite my clients for an area tour by boat so they can enjoy a different perspective,” said Kathy.

Kathy attributes her decision to make real estate her career as the result of helping friends and family find just the right home for them.  “I was formerly with Sysco Foods but found myself pouring over real estate listings just for fun.  I finally realized that it was time to leave the corporate world and pursue my true passion.  Nothing makes me feel better than knowing I helped someone realize their dream.”

Joining RE/MAX Southern Coast seemed the natural next career step that was the right choice for Kathy and her clients.  “The company offers a tremendous amount of support and the office location in downtown Southport is ideal.  Donna, Fred and Robert have worked hard to create an environment that fosters continued growth and success.”

Tuning in and listening is at the top of her client service list.  “It is my pleasure to help people find their beach retreat, investment property or their ‘home sweet, or salty, home’! When it’s time to sell, I am there every step of the way, from the initial listing through closing to make the process as easy and seamless as possible.”

With their children now grown, Kathy and Brad, who works remotely for Cisco Computer Systems, embrace island living with daily beach walks and boating.  Their twin sons work in the area’s restaurant industry and their daughter recently graduated with a Masters Degree in speech and language pathology.
